It is important to count calories on the Zone diet, with most meals being no more than five hundred calories each and snacks no more than one hundred calories each. Under the eating plan, you eat five times each day (three meals and two snacks), never going more than five hours without having a snack or meal. If you get eight hours of sleep per night, this means taking breakfast within one hour of waking up, lunch within five hours of breakfast, a snack within five hours of your lunch, dinner within two to three hours of snack, and a final snack right before bedtime.
